Miami-Dade County Public Schools values its dedicated workforce. As one of Florida’s largest employers, the school district is committed to creating opportunities that help mitigate the rising costs of healthcare while providing a benefits package that meet employees’ needs. Through a partnership with Cigna, M-DCPS is making it easier for employees to receive quality care for minor medical conditions. Cigna Telehealth Connection and Cigna Total Behavioral Health provide participant choice as well as quick and easy access to affordable telehealth services.
Cigna Telehealth Connection is telemedicine that allows M-DCPS employees and retirees covered under Cigna plans to get the care they need for a wide range of non-life threatening conditions at a co-payment of only $10. Employees can access a board-certified doctor or pediatrician via video, chat or phone, without leaving their home or office. Physicians are able to prescribe medications to an employee’s selected participating pharmacy.   While Telehealth Connection is a convenient medical resource for employees, it should not take the place of a primary care physician nor should it be used in the event of a medical emergency. If you have a medical emergency, you should dial 911 immediately or visit the nearest hospital.  
Cigna Total Behavioral Health provides personal and confidential video-based mental health support in an area where access to and availability of quality care is often a challenge. Eligible participants are able to manage behavioral health issues before they become more serious.  Covered individuals will have access to psychologists, behavioral health professionals and developmental-behavioral pediatricians. Behavioral Telehealth provides access to video-based services for quality care in a way that is more convenient than visiting an office.  Telehealth services can be used for diagnosis and treatment of behavioral issues such as anxiety, depression, family & relationship issues, grief, stress and substance use.
